Safety and Well-Being

Welcome to Nordic Game, Europe’s leading games conference and the only event in the world with a dedicated focus on the entire Nordic industry.

Our commitment to safety and good conduct at Nordic Game

NG23 Spring takes place in Malmö, Sweden on 23-26 May, and ticket sales are already breaking records. With over 2,500 participants expected, the goal is to make this edition of the conference our safest and most welcoming yet.

Preparations for the upcoming conference have been expanded to include not only gender sensitivity issues, but also physical limitations requiring on-site companions or increased accessibility.

In addition to regular security staff on-site, Nordic Game has also recruited a “safety team”, consisting exclusively of women, instructed on how to manage any possible inconvenience perceived by our participants and how to address irregularities, in accordance with our code of conduct.

Internally, Nordic Game has revised all employment contracts, including agreements with consultants, to include the company’s updated code of conduct, and continues to review and expand the safety features of its events. These actions build on earlier policies, such as mandatory acceptance of the Nordic Game code of conduct prior to pass purchase and in-person acknowledgment of the same as event badges are issued on-site.

The entire Nordic Game team has also participated in a staff training program conducted by Gender Balance, an independent Swedish consultancy specialising in equality and discrimination issues.

Most recently (mid-April), all employees, contractors and interns participated in a retreat that reaffirmed company values and adoption of the updated code of conduct, among other measures. A workshop of this kind will be scheduled yearly before each major Nordic Game event.

Nordic Game has also contracted an independent whistle-blower platform to anonymously report any misconduct, which to date has not received any submissions, and invited speakers to address topics such as workplace conduct and professional behaviour at the conference.

Nordic Game is continually working with independent experts to take further steps to make our events as welcoming and as safe as possible for all participants. If you have any questions, feedback or advice on how we can improve the Nordic Game experience for all, please contact us here.

Truly yours,
Erik Robertson
