Meet Magnus Bruun, host of Nordic Game Awards 26!
It’s a pleasure to announce this year’s host of the Nordic Game Awards, taking place during NG26 on Thursday 28 May, 19:00 CEST in the main theatre at the Slagthuset venue. Danish actor Magnus Bruun, know for roles in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla,
Call of Duty, The Last Kingdom, Black Mirror and many more, will use his viking charisma to guide the audience through an action-packed awards show. We can’t wait to meet Magnus on stage in Malmö, and we kick started by asking him a few questions.

1. Please tell us a bit about yourself and your career this far?
I’m an international actor from Denmark, working across film, television, and video games. My work spans both on-screen performance and voice and performance capture, which I find especially rewarding as a way of exploring character and storytelling. It’s been a varied journey so far, and I’ve been fortunate to work on a wide range of projects across different genres.
I can’t wait to explore the future in games – it’s about time I make a Nordic one.
2. What do you expect from hosting the Nordic Game Awards 2026?
I expect it to fun! But most of all I expect it to be a celebration of creativity, innovation, and the unique storytelling that defines the Nordic games industry. The region consistently delivers remarkable work, and I’m looking forward to honoring the talent and passion behind it. As a host, I hope to bring energy, warmth and a bit of fun to the stage while keeping the focus on the developers and their achievements.
3. What’s your all-time favorite Nordic game, and why?
That’s a tuff question, but one that stands out to me is Hitman. It’s such a refined and elegant design, giving players a huge amount of freedom while maintaining a very clear vision – and I have to mention David’s voice. My God. I play it just to listen to him.(and all the assassinations of course.)
And on that note I have to mention Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which, while not Nordic-developed, is deeply inspired by Nordic history and was a very special project for me to be part of. My first ever video game.
Big thanks to Magnus for the answers, and see you soon for Nordic Game Awards! Haven’t registered yet? Do it now at nordicgame.com/registration.
