The second qualification round of the Nordic Game Discovery Contest Season VI will take place online at We Are Millions (WAM) on 18 March.

Organised by the Fair Data Society, WAM is a one-of-a-kind event that explores the power of art, blockchain, and games to create a fair and ethical, private, censorship-free, permissionless and unstoppable Web3.

“We’re very happy to announce our partnership with the Fair Data Society and online qualifier at WAM,” says NGDC host and Nordic Game program director Jacob Riis. “Web3 is being discussed everywhere in the industry right now, and it will be very interesting to see which games will be selected to battle against each other in the NGDC pitch competition”.

“We are very excited to welcome the NGDC to our event,” adds Tadej Fius from Fair Data Society, organiser of WAM. “Our event is the first of its kind that attempts to bring together developers, artists, gamers and activists with a focus on collaboration, the democratisation of game development, and the use of data and decentralised storage based on Fair Data Society principles. It’s an educational experiment where not everything needs to be an NFT. Instead, it explores their additional implementation for ownership and access rights, data usage awareness, social activity and collaboration”.
