Nordic Game welcomes submissions to the NG22 Spring speaker program, online and at historic Slagthuset in Malmö on 17-20 May. The submission deadline is 15 April, so apply now!

NG22 Spring on 17-20 May, our hybrid event both online and on-stage in Malmö, Sweden will mark our return to historic Slagthuset, with expanded auditoriums and expo halls, new meeting areas and outdoor amenities, and much, much more.

For those of you who have never attended Nordic Game at Slagthuset, or would just like to reminisce, here’s a taste of what to expect 🙂

NG22 Spring speaker call
The NG22 Spring speaker program will include on-stage talks in the venue and pre-recorded sessions available online.

Find descriptions of our on-stage and online programs for this May below and submit to one or both by completing the respective application form.

On-stage talks at Slagthuset in Malmö, 18-20 May
Speaker sessions in the venue at Nordic Game (30 minutes with Q&A) will consist of talks from industry experts in the following areas: art and design, production, programming and technology.

Talks should be thought-provoking, entertaining and considering the limited time available, as to-the-point as possible. Furthermore, the title and talk description should be succinct and appealing.

The pending list for this type of talk is very long and competition for available slots is fierce, so send us your strongest title and talk description possible!

Pre-recorded online sessions, from 17 May
Dubbed “Nordic Game for All”, the NG22 Spring online program aims to embrace newcomers to the industry; up-and-coming developers, students, professionals from other fields, all are welcome 🙂

Submitted talks should be no more than 20 minutes long, recorded by yourself and should focus on your personal journey in the games industry; for example, how did you get your first gig? What was your first big break?

Below are some additional questions that you can use to plan your submission. These are completely optional, but it’s important is to keep within the overall theme outlined above.

• How did a particular video game spark your interest to get into the industry?
• Describe how you got your first industry job. Was the path to get there difficult or straightforward?
• Who are your game development heroes and why?
• What’s your advice to someone who is just starting their journey into the industry and looking to work in a similar role?
• Looking back, what advice would you give a younger version of yourself, just starting their career?
