Nordic Game is pleased to reveal the studios and titles selected to compete live at NG23 Helsinki, which takes place at Epicenter on 28-29 November, and is also this year’s official Slush games industry side event.
On Wednesday, 29 November at 18:00 EET, the three selected teams will take the stage at Epicenter Helsinki for the Nordic Game Pitch Battle, a fierce but fun competition sponsored by our partners Xsolla Funding.
The three contestants have been selected from over 40 game startups and growing studios participating in NG23 Helsinki. They are:
Broken Cane (Finland) with their game Aris Arcanum
Aris Arcanum is a Victorian-era magic-fused roguelike with a spell-crafting twist. Craft spells and build your arsenal of “Ink Magic” through each run and fight your way to the depths of the “Aris Archives”.
GAMECR3W/Diehard Studios (Czechia) with their game Son of the Dragon King
Son of the Dragon King is a beat ’em up action saga, with captivating storytelling at its core, RPG-like character growth and intricate crafting. Your path – a blend of honor and redemption – will decide feudal Japan’s fate. Can you emerge as the champion, facing down the elemental warlords?
Virtual Dawn (Finland) with their game Five-Star: Chef Ops
Dive into the culinary universe of Five-Star: Chef Ops, a strategy-packed adrenaline ride where every second drains profits and everything brings calamity upon you. One bad decision can break the camel’s back. This is not a cooking game. This is a tactical kitchen simulation with a hint of cooking.
Nordic Game’s own Jacob Riis will host the competition, joined by three pitch battle judges who will determine the NG23 Helsinki Game of the Show winner, including industry expert Patrick Rose, Neogames Finland chief business advisor Suvi Latva and Xsolla Funding BD manager Nathan Sölbrandt.
The Nordic Game Pitch Battle is presented by Xsolla Funding and takes place on Wednesday, 29 November at 18:00 EET at Epicenter. All NG23 Helsinki pass holders are welcome to enjoy the show and cheer on their favorites.
