AI at NG26: A Personal Guide to the New Speaker Track
I’m heading to NG26 in Malmö on 26-29 May with one main mission: dive deep into how AI is reshaping the games industry. For the first time, Nordic Game has launched a full dedicated AI Track, sponsored by the awesome Checkstep, and the lineup is genuinely exciting. Here’s my personal day-by-day plan, and some the sessions I’m most looking forward to and exactly why.

Tuesday 26 May: Strong Start in the Gallerian auditorium
10:45 CEST
No API, No Problem: Deploying Fast, Private, and Purpose-built GenAI models for Games
With Kristian Pedersen (Data Engineer) & Keith Lia (Senior Data Engineer), Raw Power Labs
This is my must-attend opening session. Running powerful generative AI directly inside games without relying on cloud APIs solves huge issues around latency, privacy, and cost. I’m really keen to hear their practical insights on memory optimisation and getting reliable results in real production environments.
12:30 CEST
AI In Game Audio – Apocalypse or Liberation?
With Victor Hime (Creative Director)
As someone who cares a lot about sound, this talk intrigues me the most on day one. Victor will explore how AI is changing voice-over, music, and SFX pipelines, and give an honest take on where it saves massive time versus where it still creates challenges.
Wednesday 27 May: Safety, Storytelling & Human Creativity in the Theatre
13:45 CEST
Building Safer, More Joyful Gaming Communities with Automation
With Deniz Atabey Alkan, VP, Trust & Safety, Checkstep, and Estella Corbellini, Senior Producer, Star Stable Entertainment
Player safety and community health are increasingly important. I’m looking forward to learning how automation and AI can proactively tackle toxicity while creating more positive, joyful experiences for players.

14:45 CEST
Human-Led AI: the Future of Role Playing Games
Panel with Alex Chamorro, CEO & Co-founder, and Alastair Chamorro, CETO, Infinity Fiction Limited, Jeff Gardiner, CEO, Something Wicked Games, and moderated by John Clark
I’m a huge RPG fan, so this panel is a highlight for me. It promises to explore how we can use AI to scale storytelling and world-building while keeping human creativity, IP protection, and player trust at the centre.
Thursday 28 May: Strategy & Real-World Implementation
11:00 CEST
Build Smart, Ship Fast and Stay Legal: Building an AI Strategy for Game Studios.
With Tuomas Pelkonen, Attorney/Senior Associate
AI is reshaping how games are built. Studios across the industry are adopting AI tools to accelerate production and explore new creative possibilities. But with rapid adoption comes a growing set of legal and regulatory questions. Really important topic for all studio leads!
And much much more!
The AI Track continues across all three main days of NG26 with many more sessions on procedural generation, ethics, creative tools, and the future of development. You can explore the full program here: https://nordicgame.com/program/#program and see all speakers at https://nordicgame.com/speakers/.
If you’re interested in AI and games, whether you’re a developer, designer, producer, or just excited about the future of our industry – the NG26 AI Track is where you need to be this May. See you in Malmö! I’ll be the one taking furious notes in the front rows of the auditoriums.
