Danish Books & Magic has launched their innovative AR-book The Little Mermaid for mobile devices. Besides the classic fairytale, the package also includes a 3D-animated adventure explored with a smartphone.
“It is a new way for parents and children to read together, and the experience often intrigues the desire for more reading aloud in general,” says Books & Magic CEO Mark Dalby Folkenberg. “We make children curious on what is hidden in the text by highlighting the fantasy world behind the book.”
Books & Magic earlier received a grant from the Nordic Game Program for being among the most promising projects within the game industry in the Nordic region.
“I am deeply impressed by Books & Magic and their drive, the way they present their product, their sales strategy and their ideas for the Asian market,” says Interactive Denmark CEO Jan Neiiendam.

The Little Mermaid can be either bought as a book at www.booksandmagic.com (global shipping) or via the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android (which also works without the book as an in-app purchase).
