Nordic Game Trailer Park – New Nordic Games Worth Watching

Welcome to the first edition of Nordic Game Trailer Park, a new series on nordicgame.com where we put the spotlight on new and upcoming games made in the Nordic countries. The idea is simple: We highlight a top 5 of trailers for games from studios in the Nordic region. We look for titles with strong vision, distinctive style, or just pure energy. If you’re a developer and you have a game trailer ready for your upcoming game, let us know!
Here are five trailers currently worth your time.
1. The Polar Darkness – Horsefly Games (Finland)

A slow-burning folk horror mystery set in rural 1980s northern Finland during the polar night. Journalist Emma Järvelä investigates the disappearance of a child preacher in an isolated village where no one is telling the full truth. The game mixes photographed live-action characters with atmospheric 3D environments, drawing on Finnish folklore and cosmic horror.
Horsefly Games recently won Audience Choice at Pocket Gamer Connects Nordic 2026, has passed 7,000 Steam wishlists, and even landed a publisher deal – sweet! A strong example of how Finnish studios continue to deliver distinctive narrative experiences.

2. Meadgard – Oddiko (Sweden)

A chaotic 1-4 player co-op tavern adventure where you hunt mythical beasts by day and try to keep demanding (and often aggressive) patrons happy by night. Built around Norse mythology with a strong dose of Overcooked-style chaos, Meadgard comes from the Gothenburg studio Oddiko. The founders of Arrowhead Game Studios have invested in the project.
Early Access launches on Steam on 5 November 2026, with a demo already available. A fun, social title that feels very much at home in the Nordic games community.

3. Cliff Kingdom – Most Likely No Reason For Hysteria (Norway)

A hand-drawn action Metroidvania. You play as Mothboy, the last in a long line of lightkeepers, tasked with recovering the lost light of a cliffside kingdom. The art direction and atmosphere stand out, and the Norwegian studio has already shown the game at events including the Nordic booth area at gamescom.
The team continues to iterate on the demo. A solid entry for players who enjoy exploration-driven action with strong visual identity.

4. The Pines – Studio Abattoir (Denmark)

An open-world psychological horror RPG. Former detective Edward Walker arrives at a secluded forest retreat that promises recovery, only to discover something deeply wrong beneath the calm surface. Features investigation, choices with consequences, a Stalker system, and combat. Targeting 2027 on PC.

5. NORSE: Oath of Blood – Arctic Hazard (Norway)

A turn-based tactics game set in Viking-Age Norway. Players build a settlement, manage resources, form alliances, and fight strategic battles while pursuing a path of vengeance. The game mixes settlement management with story-driven combat and has been available on PC since earlier this year, with ongoing support and trailers showcasing its systems.
A clear example of Norwegian studios leaning into local history and mythology in a polished, systems-driven package.
