In 2022, Nordic Game debuted in Helsinki during Slush week with an event attracting 370 participants. We returned to the Finnish capital this November in partnership with Slush, the world’s leading start-up festival, as the year’s official games industry side event.
NG23 Helsinki hosted over 600 attendees at Epicenter with a range of activities, including an Executive Breakfast and Summit hosted by Suomen Pelinkehittäjät and Neogames, as well as games industry focused business matchmaking, speed pitching and coaching for game startups and growing studios.
“It was great to see our event grow and to meet with the many new game companies, as well as investors and publishers, who were in town for Slush,” said Nordic Game program director Jacob Riis. “The atmosphere during NG23 Helsinki was very friendly,” added Nordic Game regional representative Hind Toufga. “The mix of decision-makers and startups created a vibrant and very positive dynamic for all participants.”
In addition to executive events and activities for game startups and growing studios, NG23 Helsinki also served as a hub for industry-focused business meetings. A whopping 476 meetings between developers and investors, publishers and service providers took place from 28-29 November, hosted by long-time Nordic Game partner MeetToMatch.
The Executive Summit, startup activities and meetings on Day One of NG23 Helsinki concluded with an after-hours party and Maraoke sing-along hosted by industry legend Ste Curran.
On Day Two, attendees ended a long day of meetings on a high note with the Nordic Game Pitch Battle, presented live on stage at Epicenter by Xsolla Funding, and with Finnish studio Virtual Dawn ultimately winning with their upcoming VR title Five-Star: Chef Ops”.
