WiG Meetup Returns for NG26: Empowering Voices in Nordic Game Development
Nordic Game is thrilled to welcome back the Women in Games (WiG) Meetup as a key highlight of NG26 Spring, taking place 26–29 May 2026 at Slagthuset in Malmö, Sweden.
Following a highly successful debut at NG25 the WiG Meetup proved the strong demand and community interest in creating dedicated spaces for women and allies in the games industry. This year, the event returns as an integral part of the conference program, once again hosted at the famous Slagthuset venue.

WiG ambassador Hind Toufga (Julicia Studio, Co-founder of Mindquest Game) has been appointed to lead the event. Over the coming months, she will curate an impactful speaker panel, secure top talent, refine the format, and select timely topics that reflect the current state of the games market and the evolving experiences of women in the industry.
Hind Toufga shared her enthusiasm for the event: “WiG Meetups at NG26 aren’t just side events—they’re catalysts. For WiG members, they offer a space to be heard, to connect with peers and decision-makers, and to show up together in an industry that’s stronger when women are visible, vocal, and leading. In the Nordics, where creativity, innovation, and progressive values shape the global games landscape, women are already driving change. Being present at NG26 means amplifying Nordic women’s voices, learning from each other’s journeys, and ensuring that our perspectives are represented on panels, in conversations, and in the future of games.”
Discount on offer
To make participation even more accessible, Nordic Game has partnered with WiG to offer a special 20% discount on all NG26 passes exclusively for WiG members. Interested attendees can reach out directly via the Women in Games contact page: https://www.womeningames.org/contact/.
Welcome to the WiG Meetup at NG26!

About Women in Games
Women in Games is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2009, when women made up just 6% of the global games industry workforce. By 2020, that figure had risen to a global average of 22%. However, progress remains uneven: a recent survey of the world’s top 15 games companies showed women holding only 16% of executive roles. In esports, women represent around 5% (or 1 in 20) of competitors and professionals. Meanwhile, approximately 50% of gamers worldwide identify as women—highlighting a persistent gap in representation, leadership, and inclusion across the industry and esports ecosystems.
The WiG Meetup at NG26 offers a vital opportunity to bridge these gaps through meaningful dialogue, networking, and collective action. Join the conversation and help shape a more inclusive future for games.
