Finnish studio Headnought has released WoodChopper, an episodic action puzzler for younger gamers with an ethical twist, exclusively for Windows Phone devices worldwide.
WoodChopper is a child-friendly game combining action and puzzle-solving in a unique way, by encouraging good deeds and frowning on careless behaviour, which makes play more difficult.
In the game players guide “Chip the Chopper”, a helicopter who likes to help out whenever he can, on a series of adventures. The entire first episode is free to download, with a one-time purchase to unlock all future content, including new episodes and optional upgrades.
WoodChopper was soft-launched for Windows Phone 8 devices at the end of October last year, and is now globally available on the Windows Phone Store.
According to Headnought, the WoodChopper team has been improving the game and adding features based on customer feedback since the title’s initial release. Well-received by gamers around the world, WoodChopper is currently part of the “Indie Games Spotlight” category on the Windows Phone Store.
For the launch of the game’s newest content patch, Headnought teamed up with long-time partner Seepia Games to create a comic book-themed campaign, which unlocks the second WoodChopper episode as well as all future content free-of-charge. The campaign runs from 23-29 March.
