The organisers of Nordic Game 2015 are very pleased to reveal a dedicated one-day Unity track as an integral part of this year’s conference program, consisting of five expert sessions on 21 May.
“The track will focus on how developers can get to grips with the great new features from Unity 5,” said Unity Technologies regional sales director and track organiser Andy Brammall. “Simultaneously we will be showcasing new services including Unity’s Cloud Build, Unity Ads and Everyplay to demonstrate how games developers can be more productive and efficient during development and connect and engage with quality audiences after release.”
The Unity track will kick off with “Visual Features and Tools in Unity 5” presented by Product Evangelist Andy Touch. The talk will give a hands-on, in-editor demo of how the new physically-based rendering, reflection probes, emissive surfaces and global illumination can all be set-up, controlled and customised both in-editor and at runtime.
Also featured, the “Unity – The Engine for VR” talk presented by Product Evangelist Josh Naylor will cover how with the launch of Unity 5 personal edition, anyone can produce awesome content and target Virtual Reality with the Oculus Build Target.
The track will continue with Evangelist Oscar Clark’s presentation “How to Make $1M Without Making Your Players Cross”. The session will discuss how games developers can get their games discovered and make money through Unity Ads and Everyplay. Community Manager Sara Cecilia Lempiäinen will then present “Using the New 2D Features in Unity 5”, a demonstration of how the new 2D features in Unity 5 can be optimised to build fantastic 2D games.
The final session “How to Easily Build, Distribute & Analyse Your Unity Games in the Cloud” by Evangelist Andy Touch will demonstrate how Unity Cloud Build can save developers time when building their game for multiple platforms and devices and how Unity Analytics can help you understand how your game is being experienced and played.
As an integral part of the NG15 program, no requirements other than a NG15 conference pass are needed to join these special sessions. The announcement of the Unity track at NG15 rounds off Unity’s powerful presence as an official partner of the Nordic Game 2015 conference, as well as co-sponsor of the renowned Nordic Indie Night party on 20 May.
