Nordic Game is proud to feature a partner story from Zordix:
Nordic Game had the pleasure of sitting down (at a safe distance) with Matti Larsson, founder and CEO of one of the Swedish stock exchange rockets, the Zordix group. Our chat revealed a large scale plan for continued acquisitions across the world and recruitment of more managers to their HQ in Umeå, northern Sweden.
Nordic Game: Hello Matti, nice to see you again and thank you for always visiting us at the Nordic Game conference! What are the current plans at Zordix, I heard that you are looking for more people?
Matti Larsson: The pleasure is all mine! Yes, you are right, the Zordix family has grown a lot over recent years, and we intend to continue to grow fast both organically as well as by acquisitions. As a group of companies, it´s time to add more managers to assist all business units. In development in Umeå we are looking for more programmers. A perfect match is a huge interest in terrain vehicle physics and graphics programming.
Nordic Game: What could be the roles and expected qualifications for the new managers joining your headquarters?
Matti Larsson: Foremost, we are looking for these four; a marketing manager, a VP of business development/sales, a community manager and a group executive producer. These should be real doers with a strong entrepreneurial drive, wanting to build something big together, and not be afraid to travel.
All should be passionate gamers with good connections and insights into the gaming industry. A special interest in terrain vehicles and adventure/puzzle horror games is a plus.

Nordic Game: What are the advantages with your location in Umeå?
Matti Larsson: We are close to the University of Umeå with over 30,000 students and the Västerbotten region is a beautiful natural environment for all-terrain vehicles, the type of games we make in our Zordix Racing studio.
It is a fantastic office environment here with lots of space, including the possibility of daily table tennis. Sponsorship of your own snowmobile driver’s license is of course included in the job as well 🙂
Nordic Game: Will your acquisitions continue to be international?
Matti Larsson: Yes, that is right. We are expanding the group internationally, so being able to travel is quite important for all or our managers.
Nordic Game: To round this off, I´d like to ask you what is your overall business model and strategy going forward?
Matti Larsson: Our model is to build a publishing and distribution powerhouse and to expand the portfolio of our own IP developed within our own studios, console and PC games.
In our base strategy we will continue acquiring publishers, distributors as well as interesting IP. A lot is happening, and we will certainly always look for new business opportunities as well.
Nordic Game: Thank you, Matti Larsson!
