Mikael Nermark has resigned as CEO of Starbreeze with immediate effect for personal reasons. Tobias Sjögren has been appointed by the Starbreeze board as acting CEO and to initiate the search for a new chief executive.
“I would like to thank Mikael for his efforts during many years at Starbreeze,” says Starbreeze chairman Torgny Hellström. “Mikael has had a big role in the company’s development and today Starbreeze stands stronger with a full focus on Payday.”
Tobias Sjögren is a Starbreeze board member with an extensive background in the games industry. Previously Sjögren served as studio manager at DICE in Stockholm, as well as business development EVP at Paradox and CEO of its subsidiary White Wolf.
