Nordic Game and the organisers of the upcoming Southern Sweden Design Days (SSDD) Festival have partnered to bring their audiences together in Malmö this May.
Activities will include this special session in SSDD Studio speaker program at Lokstallarna in Malmö, featuring designers from games and product development/interior design on Thursday, 19 May:
Let’s Get Closer: Designing for Games vs. Reality
Two designers from different worlds meet for a conversation about proximity. James Newnorth is a game designer and founder of Spelkollektivet, the world’s largest co-living and co-working space – especially focused on indie game developers. Niklas Madsen is a designer at Superlab, working in product development and interior design. What does proximity mean for James and Niklas in their respective fields, and are there differences in approaches and thoughts? Or even common ground? What can they learn of each other and how?
SSDD will also play an important role in an online game jam organised by Nordic Game on 15-16 May, the weekend prior to the NG22 Spring conference and hosted on the Nordic Game Discord server. Andreas Hansson from Form/Design Center – also one of the two SSDD Studio Hosts – will be part of the panel judging the projects being created during the game jam.
