Oddwings Escape, the debut mobile title from Finnish developer Small Giant Games, has been downloaded by over one million players around the world since the game’s App Store launch on 14 May. Available in 15 languages, Oddwings Escape has also reached the top 10 iPhone games chart in 73 countries and the top 10 iPad games chart in 87 countries.
Oddwings Escape is a genre-blending flying game in which players face challenging puzzles as they rescue wacky “Oddwings” from the lab of the evil “Dr. Rooster”. Each Oddwing’s character has different flight dynamics and special powers, and basic abilities can be upgraded to fly faster, further and smarter. Oddwings Escape also features pervasive asynchronous multiplayer technology, which lets players fly against friends, even when offline.
“It has been very exciting to follow Oddwings Escape’s flight in the App Store download charts since the day it was launched,” says Small Giant Games CEO Timo Soininen. “Hitting one million downloads in just six days is truly amazing and the overwhelmingly positive world-wide feedback from the players is very encouraging!”
