The Northern Game Summit in Kajaani, Finland will host the fourth qualifying round in Season 2 of the Nordic Game Discovery Contest (NGDC).
When the NGDC debuted last year with a qualifying round in Kajaani, Finnish developer Team Ocmo won a seat in the live pitch competition finals at Nordic Game 2017 in Malmö. They did a splendid job on stage at NG17 as well, earning “NGDC Game of the Year” for their innovative platformer Ocmo.
With this in mind, it’s a great pleasure to announce that the NGDC is returning to the Northern Game Summit this fall. The fourth qualifying round in this season’s Nordic Game Discovery Contest will take place at NGS 2017 on 5 October in Kajaani, Finland. The winner will earn a place in the Nordic Game Discovery Contest Finals at next year’s Nordic Game conference, 23-25 May 2018 in Malmö, Sweden.
“It’s great to have the Nordic Game Discovery Contest back as part of NGS this year. Last year we had very skilled participants at the contest and in the end, one of ours came on top,” say the NGS organisers. “The winning team will get their game (showcased) at one of the biggest game conferences in Nordic region, Nordic Game, which is why I highly recommend joining! Let’s make this year even more epic.”
“As we know for sure that there are some really talented game developers attending NGS, we’re very much looking forward to meeting the gaming scene there again,” adds Nordic Game program director Jacob Riis. “We hope to see a lot of exciting projects entering the contest and battling on stage!”
Do you have a game project that deserves to be discovered? The deadline for NGDC qualifier submissions at NGS is 14 September, so hurry up and go here to read more about joining the contest in Kajaani!
