Peers from the Nordic and global game developer communities celebrated the twelfth edition Nordic Game, Europe’s most relevant games industry conference, on 20-22 May 2015.
The organisers would love to thank all of the visitors, sponsors and partners for three amazing days in Malmö. Here are a few NG15 highlights:
A record high number – more than 2000 visitors – took the trip to Slagthuset in Malmö, Sweden this year for three days filled with talks, workshops, summits and events like Nordic Game Indie Night (on 20 May) and the Nordic Game Awards (on 21 May), there were plenty of options to get smarter, to network and to have fun.
With over 120 speakers, the audience had a lot to choose from in this year’s Nordic Game program. There were many highlights, among them keynotes by Chris Avellone (Pillars of Eternity), Nicole Lazzaro (XEODesign) and Oskar Guilbert (Life Is Strange), great talks by David Gaider (Bioware), Brie Code (Ubisoft) and Simon Stålenhag (artist), and not least Nordic Game veteran Ste Curran, who once again moved the audience with a brilliant session.
On the business side of the conference, events such as the Investing in Games Summit, Investor Speed-Pitch and all new Indie/Publisher Meetup got the participating attendees well-connected, while the Pitch & Match matchmaking system broke all previous records: 165 companies over three days in a whopping 758 meetings!
There was also plenty of room for celebrating, as Swedish MachineGames took the main prize at the annual Nordic Game Awards for Wolfenstein: The New Order. The award show was followed by a fabulous three-course gala dinner for more than 900 sitting guests and a Nordic party that raised the roof at Slagthuset.
These are just some of the many highlights of Nordic Game 2015.
