“Malta is a new addition to the NGDC tour schedule, and we’re very pleased to be able to bring the Discovery Contest, now in its fourth season, to Malta’s debut Playcon event with the support of the GamingMalta Foundation,” says NGDC host and Nordic Game CCO Jacob Riis. “I’m really looking forward to hosting this qualifier and to meeting with local developers. It will be very exciting to see which games will make it as finalists and how they perform under the pressure (and fun) on stage that’s all a part of the NGDC experience.”
“We are very happy to welcome the NGDC to Malta and to position Malta as a launch pad for great games, true to our mission as the ‘Home of Gaming Excellence’,” says GamingMalta head of programme implementation Shawn Muscat.
The upcoming qualifier in Malta is the second stop on the NGD Season IV tour. The winner at Playcon will earn a seat in next year’s NGDC finals at Nordic Game 2020 in Malmö, Sweden as well as prizes from Xsolla, PR specialists Plan of Attack, 80.lv and influencer marketing experts Matchmade.
How to participate
Are you developing or have you already developed a game that deserves more attention than it’s received so far? And are you attending Playcon in Malta? If so, submit your game and prepare to go on stage for the second qualifying round of NGDC Season IV – and maybe all the way to the finals at NG20 next May.
The submission deadline was 23 September – thanks to all of you that applied and congratulations to the three games selected – good luck in Malta!
