Following the Nordic Game Discovery Contest (NGDC) Season V kick-off last December during Africa Games Week in Cape Town, South Africa, the 2020-2021 qualifier schedule continues to expand, with online competitions in Norway and Italy announced this week.
“It’s great to see that the NGDC keeps growing, and our partner events around the globe play a significant role in our success,” says NGDC host and organiser Jacob Riis. “Equally important though, even with our transition to an online pitch format, is the enthusiastic support of our sponsors. This season looks outright fantastic – especially when looking at the prizes on offer for selected qualifier contestants and finalists.”
With long-time partners like Xsolla and Matchmade onboard again, as well as new sponsors like Games Branding, very strong on the PR side, there are indeed some great things in store for devs joining our fifth season.
Xsolla will provide the NGDC prize pool, including rewards for every team that gets into a qualifying round, and some very grand prizes for the season’s top three teams who make it all the way to the finals at the fall edition of Nordic Game in November.
Influencer specialist Matchmade will also provide one-on-one consultancy for qualifier winners, with PR partner Games Branding offering mentor sessions, tailor-made press releases and distribution, and not least one full PR campaign for the NGDC Season V Game of the Year winner.
