The Nordic Game Discovery Contest debuts its first DreamHack qualifier during this month’s DreamHack Beyond, a fully digital edition of the well-known and very successful global gaming event, online from 24-31 July.
DreamHack Beyond was created to both complement and showcase the best of DreamHack in a fresh, new way. The “Beyond” rollout is the evolution of shifting DreamHack into a year-round gaming lifestyle brand for the community.
As part of the extensive program, the fifth qualifier of the Nordic Game Discovery Contest Season V will be broadcast on Thursday, 29 July at 17:00 PDT (Pacific Daylight Time, US). Check out the full DreamHack Beyond program right here!
The following three contestants have been selected for the DreamHack Beyond qualifier, the winner to earn a seat in the NGDC Season V Grand Finals at the fall edition of Nordic Game 2021 this 2-5 November.
TrickShot by Meddling Kids (US): The world’s first action sports multiplayer shooter! Players dodge bullets and take out opponents as they skate ramps, grind, parkour, do complete tricks and kills for the most points to win using hover-skates or hover-boards.
Summoners Fate by D20 Studios (US): Inspired by classic tabletop and role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, Chess and HeroQuest, Summoners Fate combines turn-based tactics and deck-building to create an exciting strategy adventure game.
Affectus by Affectus Games (France): A 2.5D Blade Runner style stealth-action RPG set in a cyberpunk universe.
The DreamHack Beyond NGDC qualifier winning team and game will also receive prizes from Xsolla, Microsoft, WhisperGames and PR specialists Games Branding.
