On 27-29 May, Nordic Game organised NG20, our first ever online-only edition of Europe’s leading games industry conference. Whew!
As organisers, we were both excited and apprehensive in producing NG20 online; looking forward to expanding our event to reach an even wider audience, but concerned about retaining that intimate Nordic Game vibe that we feel makes our annual gathering so unique.
Despite a good many sleepless nights and a few bumps along the way, we can honestly say that the final results in terms of NG20 pass holder registration, sponsor support, live stream viewership, MeetToMatch activity and Discord participation were all well beyond our highest expectations.
A big, heartfelt thank you, to everyone, for making NG20 online such a success!
By the numbers, NG20 online – our debut digital conference – was comparable or exceeded the participation and engagement levels of our most recent physical events at Slagthuset in Malmö, Sweden.
You can see how NG20 online compared to our previous Nordic Game events by downloading our intro brochure (chock full of facts and figures) right here.
To begin, 1381 registered attendees joined NG20, coming from 55 different countries and 865 different companies.
The NG20 live streamed speaker program, including the Nordic Game Awards, accumulated 5614 views during the three-day conference. Average time spent on the live stream per viewer was over one hour.
If you missed any of the talks, the vast majority of them are available on our Vimeo page right here.
The NG20 version of MeetToMatch, including integrated video conferencing, was also a great success. 817 pass holders representing 634 companies used the meeting booking system during the conference, with a total of 2266 confirmed meetings.
Finally, our grand experiment to bring Nordic Game emotion to the online edition paid-off with a very popular debut of Nordic Game on Discord, as over 600 pass holders gathering to take part in NG20 and partner social events, to network, to chat with NG20 speakers and basically have virtual fun 🙂
And please continue to support for Nordic Game by joining us again this fall at NG20+ on 25-27 November – stay tuned for more news and details by signing up for the Nordic Game newsletter here , visiting us regularly on nordicgame.com and following our hashtag on social media: #NordicGame.
