The third season of the NGDC kicks-off with a new, enhanced live pitch format at Game Dev Days in Graz, Austria on 1 September.
The organisers of the Nordic Game Discovery Contest are proud to announce the opening qualifier for the contest’s third season at Game Dev Days in Graz, Austria next month, as well as a brand new and very exciting format for the the live pitch competition.
Instead of the earlier “first pitch, then receive feedback from the judges” format of the previous two seasons, NGDC is introducing round-based, intense on-stage competition for points and glory in the qualifiers and finals.
Debuting on 1 September at Game Dev Days, the updated contest structure is intended to be more entertaining for the live audience as well as provide the contestants with a fun and rewarding experience.
“We’ve spent the summer developing this new on-stage concept,” says NGDC host and Nordic Game CCO Jacob Riis. “I’m excited but also a bit nervous, as we’ll be premiering the new NGDC format at Game Dev Days in Graz next month. So join us if you want to me sweat and probably make some awkward mistakes.”
“Graz is known for its vivid indie dev culture,” adds the Game Dev Days Graz organizer Johanna Pirker. “So we’re extremely excited to host the Nordic Game Discovery Contest here at Game Dev Days for the first time.”
The winner of the first NGDC Season III qualifier at Game Dev Days will win a seat in the NGDC Grand Finals next year at Nordic Game 2019, 22-24 May in Malmö, Sweden.
