The British Academy of Film and Television Art (BAFTA) has once again paid their annual tribute to games and awarded prices in 15 different categories. Among the Nordic nominees this year were Finnish RedLynx Ltd for Trials Fusion in the “Sports” category, and Minecraft: Console Editions in the “Family” category.
The BAFTA award show was hosted by actor/comedian Rufus Hound and held at the picturesque Tobacco Dock in London.
In the “Sports” category Trials Fusion lost to the skate board game OlliOlli. However, Minecraft: Console Editions managed to capture the award for “Family Game 2015”, beating games like Skylanders: Trap Team, Mario Kart 8 and LittleBigPlanet 3. The award was collected by Roger Carpenter, lead producer at Minecraft Xbox Editions.
David Braben, last year’s keynote speaker at Nordic Game conference, was also presented with The Fellowship Award by BAFTA for his outstanding and exceptional creative contribution to the games industry.
