The tight-knit team at Danish developer BetaDwarf had a colourful beginning, living in a classroom for eight months and later sharing a house in rural Denmark to achieve the successful 2013 launch of their debut game Forced.
Two years later, BetaDwarf is preparing to release the sequel, Forced Showdown, slated for Steam on 29 March. A mash-up that combines top-down, twin stick rogue-lite action with the strategy of a deck-building card game, Forced Showdown players take control of “gladiators” in a “Galactic Game Show” – and then it’s a kill or be killed affair.
“Following the success of (Forced), we sat down in a circle while silently nodding at each other – we all knew what we were destined to develop (next). (So) we rose, hugged and switched on our computers. Exactly 800 days (later), that game is ready!” said BetaDwarf CEO and game director Steffen Kabbelgaard in a press release.

To celebrate the upcoming release, BetaDwaf will be hosting a special event starting 23 March to reveal the “unique way” the game will launch. More information at forcedshowdown.com.
