The NGDC deadline for Ludicious in Zürich, Switzerland has been extended to 22 January – apply now!
The Nordic Game Discovery Contest’s third season returns to the Ludicious conference in Zürich, Switzerland on 2 February, with qualifier submissions now open.
“2018 has seen many challenges for the game dev community: crowded platforms – the need for more income from different revenue steams (especially for small and mid-sized studios) and work culture – the diversity of our industry and self-exploitation of developers, have rightfully been in constant discussion,” says Ludicious artistic & conference director Tobias Kopka. “On the other hand, new platforms and creative designers, as well as ever-changing audience and community interaction have made our medium more interesting for exploration and innovation than ever. So, where are we going as creatives and an industry? Join us to discuss this and much more at #ludicious19!”
“Even though it’s a second tour to Ludicious for the NGDC, it’s the first time for me,” says NGDC host and Nordic Game CCO Jacob Riis. “Last year my dear colleague Teddy Florea was in Zurich to host the qualifier, and came back with great stories about the Swiss developer community and games of really high quality. Now I can’t wait to experience the show for myself, and of course to host this year’s NGDC round as the selected devs battle it out in our new contest format.”
The qualifier in Zürich will be the thirteenth in the NGDC Season III tour plan. The winning game will earn a spot in the NGDC Grand Finals next year at Nordic Game 2019, 22-24 May in Malmö, Sweden, as well as prizes from PR specialists Plan of Attack and Mail.ru.
