The deadline is fast approaching if you want to take part in Stugan’s annual accelerator program for aspiring game developers – applications must to be submitted by EOD 15 April – that’s today!
According to Tommy Palm, one of the co-founders of Stugan and Resolution Games CEO, the review committee has received more applications than they have room for. He still recommends applying though, as the organisers are seeking a diverse set of participants from around the globe, and the bulk of recent applications have come from the Americas, with rather fewer from Europe and Asia.
As for the application, Palm suggests following the instructions found on Stugan’s website – and stresses that the video submitted should not be a trailer.
“We believe that a short video is the best way to present both yourself and (your) game concept. I strongly recommend using the 90 seconds well. Tell us who you are and why you want to make your game,” says Palm. “Personally, I’m looking for a little bit crazy and out there. It’s so hard to tell in advance if a game concept will work, so we believe that Stugan is a great way to realise (games) that no commercial incubator would bet on.”
Developers selected for Stugan can look forward to hearing talks from and being coached by some very exciting names. The first mentors were announced two weeks ago, with more to follow. Palm also recommends bringing a swimsuit, as the accelerator program’s “stuga” (cabin) is lakeside and has a big sauna.
