Nordic developer IO Interactive (IOI), best known for their popular Hitman franchise, has announced a publishing and distribution agreement with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) to bring their yet-to-be-revealed upcoming game to players worldwide.
“We’re very pleased to continue our relationship with the talented team at IO Interactive,” says WBIE president David Haddad. “IO Interactive has a longstanding legacy of creating iconic games, and we’re looking forward to partnering on this next endeavor to bring a new console and PC gaming experience to players globally.”
“Over the past few years, Warner Bros. has shown us first-hand that they understand and respect our creative vision,” says IOI CEO Hakan Abrak. “We’re looking forward to continuing this relationship.”
IOI and WBIE previously partnered on the release of several Hitman titles, including Hitman 2 (check out the release trailer below).
IO Interactive also has two offices in the Nordic region; IOI Copenhagen in Denmark and the recently opened IOI Malmö in Sweden. According to the developer, both studios will be integral in the development of a new title under the WBIE partnership and are recruiting top talent to join the development team.
“IO Interactive has a proud history of creating compelling characters and universes for our players to enjoy — it’s in our DNA,” says IOI CEO Hakan Abrak. “As we embark on this exciting project to create a new universe for IOI together with Warner Bros., we’re looking for ambitious talent to join our team in our Copenhagen and Malmö studios for this extraordinary journey.”
