Danish Hugo Games has partnered with French publisher Moulinsart to develop a mobile game based on the original stories, characters and mysteries from the legendary Tintin albums created by Belgian cartoonist Hergé.
In the comic books, Tintin and his friends travel around the world to solve mysteries. The upcoming game will be loyal to the content of the books, as gamers will travel through the same exotic signature places known from the comics while solving “match 3” puzzles.
“This is great news for Hugo Games and for gamers, because we will bring one of the most beloved characters in comic history, the legendary Tintin, to mobile devices,” says Hugo Games CEO Henrik Nielsen. “The key ingredients of a great game are a strong story line and good characters, and you don’t get them much better than in the fantastic Tintin universe. We are very pleased to be able to work with the IPs of Moulinsart.”
The first time a mobile game will be built on the contents of the original Tintin books, the title is slated to launch in 2019.
