Rovio Entertainment subsidiary Hatch has unveiled several new and original content initiatives for their Android-based subscription cloud gaming platform.
The Hatch Originals publishing program lifts off with Arkanoid Rising, a bold new reimagining of the arcade classic. Produced and published by Hatch in association with Japanese TAITO, who designed, developed and sold the game in 1986, Arkanoid Rising is the first ever game built from the ground up for streaming via Hatch.

“It’s only fitting that one of the great pioneering game IPs now leads us into another pioneering era,” says Hatch founder and CEO Juhani Honkala. “New gaming experiences like Arkanoid Rising will take full advantage of the unique social strengths of Hatch, as users play together, collaborate or compete in real time, no matter what device they happen to be playing on.”
Hatch Kids, a safe and completely ad-free space for children to play, learn and create online, also debuts on the service with the popular Toca Boca series, award-winning digital story books by StoryToys and popular educational games by Dr. Panda.
A limited version of Hatch is available now for Android mobile phones via Google Play in the Nordic countries, the UK and Ireland. A further eleven countries in Europe can also try Hatch via Google Play’s Early Access program, with more countries, platforms and screens planned for later.
