The Nordic Game Discovery Contest premiered as an online event with last week’s Season IV qualifying round during Devcom Digital.
The three contestants did a fantastic job presenting their games in the new format, garnering laughs and cheers from the hosts as well as lively contributions by the online audience.
Select a winner was not an easy task for the three judges; Justin Berenbaum (Xsolla), Marie Rouzie (Ubisoft) and Simay Dinc (Recontact Games). All of the contestants did a fine job in the competition’s four rounds, resulting in several split decisions by the jury.
In the end though, Happy Volcano (Belgium) won over the jury with their game You Suck at Parking and came out on top. The studio has now secured a seat in the NGDC Online Grand Finals slated for 25-27 November during NG20+.

Warm congrats to the winner, and a big thank you to the panel of judges as well as Devcom Digital organisers and producers who played a major part in the success of the NGDC’s online debut.
