Denmark’s largest conference for Nordic game developers is back in Aalborg on 7 December. The fourth annual Games Business conference, organised by NordicGameBits, Shareplay and Interactive Denmark, will focus on the future of business in the games industry.
During the one-day conference, veterans from the Nordic games industry will take the stage to discuss where they see business in the fast growing games industry moving in the coming years.
Among the expert speakers is Tommy Palm, former game guru to Candy Crush Saga maker King and co-founder of virtual reality studio Resolution Games, which has received a US$6 million investment from Google Ventures among others, and Eidos Shanghai GM Christine Thaarup.
During his keynote, Palm will talk about his experiences with King and how he believes virtual reality might change the future of business in the games industry.
“Having the games industry come together to share best practices and lessons learned is critical,” says Tommy Palm. “One of the keys in making mobile games so successful was building upon advancements and creating an open forum for discussion. It will be an equally necessary component in making emerging games platforms like VR and AR successful.”
The Games Business 2015 program in Aalborg also includes “business insight” stories from earlier stage companies in the Nordic games industry, a “Visions of the Future” expert panel that will dive into everything from Apple TV and smart-watches to emerging markets and the future of self-publishing, and a networking mingle to wrap-up the conference, giving everyone a chance to meet and share ideas.
