The games industry is experiencing impressive growth rates and this positive trend seems to be ongoing, with Scandinavia a world leader in innovative games and gaming products.
Interreg project Game Hub Scandinavia aims to make the games industry a primary source of income for the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. At NG18, we’ll present our findings and achievements in this effort and explore future opportunities.
The Game Hub Scandinavia sessions at NG18 run from 10:15-17:30 on Wednesday, 23 May in Room Reykjavik. The program includes:

10:30–11:30 – The Anatomy of a Game Incubator

A panel about entrepreneurship, incubators and accelerators, taking a closer look at our gaming clusters and their focus on education, innovation and entrepreneurship. What works and what doesn’t.

13:00 – 15:00 – Gamification Lab: Best Practice for Cross-Sector Businesses

15:00-15:30 – Gaming in Norway: An Industry in the Making

The games industry in Denmark, Finland and Sweden creates hundreds of jobs every year – what can Norway do to achieve the same? Recruiting is important and we will present numbers from relevant educational organisations. We’ll also take a look at clusters, incubators and new ways to create jobs.
