It’s a pleasure for the organisers of Nordic Game 2018 to reveal the complete program for this year’s conference, 23-25 May at Slagthuset in Malmö, Sweden.
Knowledge
More than 160 speakers are lined-up over three days for the NG18 audience to think, learn, laugh, share and evolve, with prominent names such as Siobhan Reddy (Media Molecule, Dreams), Robin Hunicke (Funemena, Journey), Angie Smets (Guerilla Games, Horizon Zero Dawn) and Johnny Monserrat (Turbine founder) ready to take the Unreal Theatre stage.
Also featured in the 2018 speaker program are the new Impact sessions, encouraging all of us to think more deeply about the real impact of the games we create – and how we create them – on our world.
Check out all the NG18 speakers right here, as well as the complete NG18 session schedule here.
Emotion
A major highlight of this year’s show will be the Nordic Game Discovery Contest Grand Finals, including the recently announced wild card selections. A total of 16 studios from across Europe will compete in the NGDC semi-finals on Wednesday, 23 May for seats in the final four at the NGDC second season final, live on stage in the Unreal Theatre on Friday, 25 May from 14:00.
All 16 NGDC Season 2 qualifiers will also be displaying their winning games in the NGDC Finalist Expo, where the NG18 audience will be able to play the games, meet some of Europe’s finest upcoming development talents and vote for their favorites.
NG18 will once again host loads of social events and parties, as well as the return of Discovery Day on Friday, 25 May, introducing Yonderplay – a special day-long session dedicated to experimental and artistic games, created in cooperation with long-time partners Copenhagen Game Collective – as well as the popular Discovery Day Showcase.
We continue to proudly celebrate the sheer quality and variety of games developed in the Nordic countries with this year’s Nordic Game Awards on Thursday, 24 May, with the nominees once again reflecting the imagination and vitality of developers from the region we call home.
Business
NG18 also features a wealth of business talks and mobile-focused content – and to round things off, don’t forget MeetToMatch – one of the most popular activities at Nordic Game – and once again looking to break the previous year’s record of meetings held (last year totalling 2790 business meetings over three days).
Thank you!
NG18 and NGDC would not be possible without the kind support of our sponsors and partners. Please take a look here, here and here to get to know them better.
