Oulu-based Frozen Vision has been selected out of more than 300 applicants as one of 60 top European companies to join the CreatiFi accelerator program.
CreatiFi supports both technological implementation and business development. The accelerator also provides game prototype financing, with the possibility of securing additional completion funds.
Frozen Vision’s winning concept is a boating simulator, aimed at helping players to understand sailing beacons and rules before taking the water. A playable demo is slated for completion by August.
Frozen Vision’s winning CreatiFi concept
The idea for the game was born when designer Jami Järviö attended a beginner’s boating class and failed. The course was filled again within minutes, leaving the next opportunity to learn sailing a year away.
“We hope that our game will help reduce (beginner) accidents,” says Frozen Vision CEO Asmo Saloranta (60 people die in Finnish boating accidents every year). “And it’s always more fun to learn the rules by playing a game rather than just reading a book.”
