Want to know how to travel in style from Finland to Nordic Game 2017 in Malmö, Sweden? Kajak Games has got it covered!
What’s it all about?
Kajak Games, a cooperative publishing company founded by the game development students of Kajaani UAS, arranges an annual bus trip to Nordic Game for their members. This year the goal was to make the journey better than ever, so they booked a 48 seat bus – promising the most epic trip from Kajaani to Malmö, bar none 🙂 Together with the Kajaani UAS student organisers of Northern Game Summit, they’ll embark on their week-long journey on 15 May.
How did the idea come to life?
Last year, Kajak Games secured a mini-bus for a group of around 10 people, including Kajaani UAS programming instructor Janne Remes. During the trip, he suggested riding through Finland and picking up people from other game development cities along the way. Soon there were enough people interested to fill a bus – almost exclusively from Kajaani! (It seems they’ll need two buses next year…)
What are these hardy travellers looking forward to at NG17?
It is crucial to have a wide range of contacts to survive in the games industry, and Kajak Games is eager to take part in conferences and events in Finland, the Nordic region and even further afield. Since Nordic Game is so close, Kajak Games wanted to give their members the chance to join the trip with little effort. Since developers, event organisers and students from Kajak Games, Northern Game Summit and Kajaani UAS are all part of the group, each person’s expectations are probably a bit different. But they’re all looking forward to one thing in common; a good time in the company of awesome people (and NG17, of course 🙂 )
Have fabulous trip and welcome to Nordic Game 2017!
