Final NG19 free pass challenge winner

Final NG19 free pass challenge winner

This spring we’ve selected several monthly winners for our NG19 Free Pass Challenge. Winners have received a complimentary pass to this year’s Nordic Game conference, 22-24 May at Slagthuset in Malmö, Sweden. Now the challenge (for this year) has drawn to a close.

April’s challenge was: At GDC, Google introduced its much awaited cloud gaming platform Stadia, including special sharing and assistance features and deep YouTube integration.

How will cloud streaming be integrated further into games and services and what other benefits will it bring in the future for both players and developers?

We received lots of great answers (thank you!), but in the end the best reply came from Bennet Jeutter from Pixelsplit in Germany:

“Further integration into games and services: Quality snapshots would be so awesome – your tester making a snapshot and you can immediately jump into the case to fix the issue. Localization is also a thing. We could tie terms directly to in game snapshots which then can be modified with a localization sheet.

Benefits for developers: If successful, one platform to concentrate on – capacities can go into actual game development. Furthermore the viral capabilities via streamers etc. are enormous. The downside is that if Stadia is extremely successful that it could get a (monopoly).

Benefits for players: Lower hardware costs -> more potential money to spend on awesome games. This argument is even more relevant in developing countries. It could also lead to a new era of interactive learning.”

A big congrats to this month’s winner – your confirmation email is on the way. And a warm thank you to everyone who participated in our contest. See you at NG19 in just a few weeks!
