Anastasia Opara, procedural artist at Stockholm-based Embark Studios, will open this year’s Nordic Game conference in Malmö, Sweden.
Embark Studios was founded in 2018 by industry veterans Patrick Söderlund, Johan Andersson, Jenny Huldschiner, Robert Runesson, Magnus Nordin and Stefan Strandberg.
On 22 May in the Unreal Theatre at Slagthuset, Anastasia Opara will open NG19 with her keynote “More Like This, Please! Texture Synthesis and Remixing from a Single Example”.
In her talk, Anastasia will explore example-based generation though a lens of texture synthesis, and at the same time touch upon her long-term vision of enabling anyone to “program” by making art.
“We’re thrilled that Anastasia Opara and Embark Studios will open NG19,” says Nordic Game program director Jacob Riis. “Embark Studios is one of the best contemporary examples of the continuing expansion in scope and quality of the Nordic games industry, and Anastasia is a true wizard in her field. I‘m sure her talk will leave the NG19 audience in a state of delighted awe.”
“The games industry is such an interesting place right now,” says Anastasia Opara. “I can’t wait to meet new faces, see what other studios are up to and give you all a glimpse into some of the things we’re tinkering with at Embark.”
