CounterPlay is an international festival exploring and challenging the role of games, play and playfulness in our jobs and lives. The next event is just around the corner, at Filmbyen in Danish Aarhus on 9-11 April.
CounterPlay focuses on the excitement, intense engagement and rich experiences of people involved in all kinds of play experiences. This sparks an investigation of how play can be transformative, change our thinking, push our boundaries and lead us to places we never imagined.
The festival aims to bring together different people, professions, ideas and perspectives because conversations on this topic need a broader scope and greater diversity.
To achieve this, April’s event will approach play across three overall domains: Playful Culture, Playful Learning and Playful Organisations. This means examination of play and being playful as part of our culture, and as ways of creating increased value and better results in education and organisations.
The festival also consists of many different formats and activities, with inspiring speakers from around the world, active workshops and Play Space – a special area with lots of playful things to try out.
