Malmö-based cloud platform developer Coherence has secured 2.5 million USD in a seed round led by UK investment firm Firstminute Capital and including Finnish SISU Game Ventures and Paul Heydon, an early investor in Supercell and Unity.
Founded earlier this year, the Coherence team includes industry veterans from DICE, Unity and Playdead. Their cloud-based open platform for developers aims to enable teams of any size to produce online worlds with virtually infinite scale and possibilities.
“With this investment we’re looking to grow our team in Malmö and exploring the possibilities of building strategic satellite offices in other cities with large developer communities,” says Coherence CEO Dino Patti.
Coherence is slated for launch in 2020 with a pioneer program planned for early next year.
