US$2000 in prizes were awarded by Swedish developer MindArk during the latest mobile online tournament in their beast battle game app ComPet.
Held from 19 December to 2 January, the competition involved hundreds of online players battling each other’s “pets” for a slice of the prize pool, with ComPet player “NotSure” scooping up the US$500 top prize.
A landmark event for the developer, MindArk also plans to advance to large-scale offline events, again with cash prizes.
“This is just the first of many tournaments,” says MindArk CEO Klas Moreau. “ComPet is bringing professional ‘real cash’ gaming straight to your mobile device.”
