The Nordic Game Discovery Contest (NGDC) is online and on the move with its fifth season. This past weekend was spent in Italy, more precisely online with the DStars Connects conference.
The third qualifier of this year’s tour featured a fierce online battle between three teams with very unique games. While Blind Faith: Edo no Yami by Italian studio Trigolobytes looked great as an action-platformer and Awakening Games’ Wars of Calibran showed great potential in the turned-based strategy genre, it was a Brazilian Metroidvania-style game that swayed the judges and earned a seat in the NGDC Season V Grand Finals at NG21 this fall.
The Light of the Darkness from Quartomundo blends Castlevania progression, exploration and RPG aspects with Legacy of Kain story, dialogue and fan theories. Check out the game’s Steam page here.
Big congrats to the Quartomundo team and warm thanks to the DStars organisers! It will be very interesting to follow the game’s progress and meet the developers again during the fifth season NGDC Grand Finals at NG21 November in Malmö, Sweden.
The selected game will earn a seat in the NGDC Grand Finals at the November edition of NG21 in Malmö, Sweden, as well as prizes from Xsolla, Microsoft, WhisperGames and PR specialists Games Branding.
