We’ve got a treat for you this year at Nordic Game; solo developer Tom Happ will be sharing his very special journey to create Axiom Verge, what many critics have described as a “love letter” to the iconic game Metroid.
An industry veteran that previously worked with big teams on AAA titles like Grey Goo, Tiger Woods and NFL Street, Happ created Axiom Verge completely by himself. Responsible for all of the art, code, music and design, Happ took more than five years to finish the game. But it was well worth the wait when Axiom Verge was released to great praise last month.
Check out the release trailer:
Happ’s talk on Thursday 21 May, called “Axiom Verge: A Five Year Solo Journey”, will give the Nordic Game audience an exclusive insight into the trials, tribulations – and triumphs – of working solo on a single game for over five years.
