Audiokinetic, a Canadian audio and sound solutions company, is one of the first companies to sign-up as exhibitors for Nordic Game 2015.
We called Mike Drummelsmith, Director of Developer Relations, for a quick Q&A.
NG: Hey Mike, you are among the early birds to exhibit at Nordic Game 2015. You exhibited at NG14 as well. What made you come back?
MD: Last year at NG14, we met a lot of really interesting developers and publishers. Not only did we get some exciting new teams start to use Wwise, but we also got a lot of feedback on new programs we could implement to get even more teams of various sizes on board. We look forward to coming back this year to show them our efforts on that front.
NG: In your opinion, what is it that makes Nordic Game unique or special?
MD: You get such a great mix of teams, from larger-sized developers working on high-budget games, all of the way down to indie games made by one or two people. It really lets us hit all aspects of the development community in one location.
NG: Could you tell us more about what Audiokinetic have to offer your customers/clients?
MD: Wwise is an incredibly popular audio engine and authoring/integration tool, used among the largest studios in the world. We offer support on 15 different platforms, engine integrations for Unity, Unreal Engine 4 and CryEngine, so using Wwise alongside those other great tools is a piece of cake. We have licensing options that range in price based on your budget (and in some situations, it’s free!), and we’re going to be unveiling new licensing options for teams that may not have the ability to buy a license up-front.
All in all, we offer a great audio engine that will save developers time on implementation and QA, all while delivering great performance and awesome quality. More and more, even third party and freelance sound designers are encouraging their development clients to use Wwise, as it makes the whole experience of integrating great audio into your game much, much easier!
NG: Thanks Mike, we are looking forward to welcoming you back to lovely Malmö, 20-22 May 2015. We wish you a fun, interesting and productive event!
