Norwegian developer Krillbite Studio has released an enhanced edition of their horror game Among the Sleep.
Originally released in 2014, Among the Sleep lets the player control a two year-old child searching for its mother in the middle of the night. The first person perspective and the psychological undertones of the narrative set the stage for an immersive and suspenseful experience. With over 300,000 units sold, the game has also resonated well among both critics and players, becoming a cult favorite.
In the new and enhanced edition of Among the Sleep (available as a free upgrade for existing owners of the game), Krillbite Studio has improved all aspects of the game. There are graphical enhancements and gameplay tweaks, improved interactions, additional dialogue, a “pyjamas selector” for the toddler and an interactive museum level that let’s you explore the content of the game and exclusive behind the scenes material. A digital art book and soundtrack is also fully integrated into the experience.

“Among the Sleep has been more successful than we dared to hope back in 2014. It’s been embraced by a huge community of gamers and we have received so much heart-warming feedback from players,” says Krillbite Studio CEO Jon Cato Lorentzen. “This is our way of giving something back to the fans and also improving the general play experience and adding stuff we want to share with the players.”
Among the Sleep: Enhanced Edition is available for PC, Mac and Linux. Existing owners get the new edition for free. The enhanced edition will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date.
