Reykjavik-based studio 1939 Games has raised 3.6 million USD for their upcoming WWII-themed collectable card game Kards.
Founded by CCP veterans Ívar Kristjánsson, Guðmundur Kristjánsson and Hrafnkell Smári Óskarsson, the developer secured the funds from Tencent, Sisu Game Ventures and Crowberry Capital along with Icelandic government support.
“This funding enables the team at 1939 Games to continue to deliver our vision of creating a high-quality, historically accurate World War II-themed digital collectable card game,” says 1939 Games CEO Ívar Kristjánsson.
