NG13: Goodbye, Thank You, and see you again next year!
The Nordic Game 2013 conference celebrated its tenth edition on 22-24 May in Malmö, Sweden. It was a fantastic 10th edition for the most relevant games industry conference in Europe, and we broke all previous records in terms of number of participants and amount of support from the various parts of the games industry. We send out a huge THANK YOU to all of you for making it such a pleasure to organise NG13, and we promise to update this page and our Facebook/Twitter/Instagram with all the stuff that'll be rolling in the coming weeks. Press Release here, and the first batch of photos are right here!
This is how we celebrated, NG13 style:
Tim Schafer was here!
We worked hard to create the strongest conference program ever, and we were immensely proud to present Tim Schafer as the opening keynote speaker. Tim was backed up by a string of global as well as local heroes, including talks by Richard Lemarchand (Uncharted), Julie Uhrman (CEO of OUYA), Mattias Nygren (LBP Vita) and many more. Go here for the speaker’s list.
Some of the announced news for NG13:
“The Walking Dead” keynote announced for Nordic Game 2013
The keynote entitled “The Talking Dead: Voicing a Dynamic Narrative” will open the second day of the conference, and it will be presented by Jory Prum, recording and mastering engineer on the critically acclaimed and immensely successful first season of Telltales Games’ “The Walking Dead”.
Jory will be leading a panel consisting of Eric Parsons, writer at Telltale Games, as well as voice actors Dave Fennoy (Lee), and Nicki Rapp (Lily). The panel will be taking the audience through the huge challenge of writing, casting, recording, directing, and ultimately giving voice to an episodic game that “ranges from extreme subtlety to intense action”.
Unity CEO as keynote
Unity is everywhere these days, having just announced support for the PS4, Snapdragon mobiles, and a Unity Pro trial period for Oculus Rift.
Thus it's a great pleasure to announce Unity CEO David Helgason as keynote speaker for NG13. Topic of David's talk will be "Extreme Success with Mobile: Challenges and Solutions" Check his session description right here.
First speakers announced for Unite Nordic
Måns Olson, game developer from Mojang, will share the approach taken by the team working on Scrolls, and he's joined by Magnus 'Gordon' Gardebäck from local studio Simogo (Beat Sneak Bandit), as well as Full Control CEO Thomas Lund (Space Hulk).
