Funklift developer Mostly Harmless Games has released their first virtual reality game, Munch VR via Steam for room-scale VR on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
Players guide “Munch”, a small fish that follows the motion controller, and help Munch grow by eating smaller fish but avoiding bigger ones. The more Munch grows, the bigger the fish that can be eaten. The game features 20 increasingly challenging levels across five beautiful underwater environments.
The Munch concept came to the developers while they were experimenting with Valve’s demo The Lab, more specifically the Space Invaders-like game called Xortex. Munch combines the mechanics of Xortex with the gameplay from classic Flash and PopCap games like Fishy and Feeding Frenzy, reinvented them for virtual reality.
