Icelandic Locatify is seeing increased interest in titles using their location-based technology following the global success of Nintendo’s own location-based augmented reality game Pokémon Go.
These games include Geotrail Go, a Halloween-themed title for children, with players searching for virtual animals “escaped” from a nearby Danish zoo, and Zoom into Nano, a digital “treasure hunt” at Science World in Canada.
“We created (Zoom into Nano) to complement our featured exhibition,” says Science World’s Jeff Porter. “The idea was to extend (learning) into our permanent exhibition spaces, encouraging visitors to find nanotechnology connections in (areas) they might not expect.”
Icelandic Locatify specialises in building location-aware apps for Android & iOS.
