Salmi Games founder and Nordic Game 2016 speaker Yacine Salmi has announced that the studio’s innovative action-puzzler Ellipsis has won this year’s Intel Level Up Game Developer Contest awards for “Game of the Year” and “Best Action Game”.
Ellipsis is a critically-acclaimed minimalist adventure game, where players guide a ship through unknown worlds, unlocking 150 unique levels as they master the game’s mechanics. Every stage brings a new set of challenges, as ever-evolving obstacles and puzzles require increasing agility, speed and skill to progress.
“In a competition featuring other finalists such as the hit indie game Duskers and exciting upcoming titles like Overland and Tooth and Tail, we are incredibly honored to receive the ‘Game of the Year’ award,” says Yacine Salmi.
The developer has also released a major GOTY update that includes 15 new levels, launched a F2P edition Ellipsis – Prologue for iOS and announced an upcoming PC version of Ellipsis, to be released in January 2017. “we are excited to finally bring Ellipsis to the PC where we feel most at home, we have a lot of new ideas in store,” adds Yacine Salmi.
